Some of African entrepreneurs compete to empower women economically

Ms.Francine Munyaneza, founder of Munyax Eco from Rwanda and Mr. Oluatomi Solanke, Founder and CEO of Trove finance from Nigeria  are some of 15 top finalists of The Africa’s Business Heroes PrizeCompetition, (ABH 2022) said that they compete to empower women economically as they pitch their business to win a share of US $1.5 million in grant money.

Ms. Francine Munyaneza, founder of Munyax Eco from Rwanda is competing in Africa’s Business Heroes Prize Competition (ABH 2022) in order increase beneficiaries and empowering women economically thanks to Munyax Eco’s solar home system and Munyax Eco’s women-led and focused solutions.

“I compete because 70% of the low income population are women and some of them are beneficiaries of our solar home system and we know that if we win a share of grant it will change their lives economically. When you hire a woman you need to be proactive and to force people to accept women and if you don’t do that they will stay behind. “Said Ms. Francine Munyaneza

Mr. Oluatomi Solanke, Founder and CEO of Trove finance from Nigeria said that he pitched his business to compete in Africa’s Business Heroes,2022  to win a share of grant which will help Trove finance to embody innovations ,resilience, growth potential and impact on African women as he empowers  and support  a quite number of women in wealth generating opportunities and also in providing knowledge and access to more money.

“We support a quite number of women in wealth generating opportunities and knowledge to have access to finance to be empowered economically that it why I compete and Jack Ma Foundation is a great and amazing initiative which will help me to embody innovations, resilience, growth potential and impact on African women thanks to the share of the grant.” Said Mr. Oluatomi Solanke.

ABH Competition is a philanthropic initiative sponsored by the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Philanthropy and its aim is supporting and inspire the next generation of African entrepreneurs across all sectors and build a more sustainable and inclusive economy for the future of the continent Every year, 10 finalists are selected to compete for a share of US $1.5 million in grant money.
