Gisagara Hosts 4th Phase of National Sitting Volleyball Tournament

From 14 to 15 February 2026, the Gisagara Gymnase hosted the fourth phase of the National Sitting Volleyball Tournament, organized by the Rwanda Paralympic Committee in partnership with the Special Guarantee Fund (SGF).

The tournament aimed to promote sports participation among people with disabilities while fostering social inclusion, improving health, and supporting economic empowerment.

Addressing participants and guests, the Chairperson of the Rwanda Paralympic Committee, Dominique Bizimana, said the competition was designed not only for entertainment but also to encourage people with disabilities who are not yet engaged in sports to take part. He emphasized that sports play a key role in improving physical and mental health, strengthening social connections, and opening up new opportunities that help reduce isolation.

Mr. Bizimana expressed his appreciation to SGF and other partners for their continued support toward the welfare and development of persons with disabilities.
